The falling in love is there, along with super hot sex scenes, but surprisingly, it's the ridiculous shenanigans and hilarious banter that got me reading them all. If you want to laugh out loud while sitting alone, try out the "Pucked" series (about young-mid 20s adults).
And almost anything by Elle Kennedy will give you what you're looking for (in stand-alones, mostly in college). Also, The Original Crowd (if you like Tijan a actually, almost all her books include the FC sort of romance.
The "More than." series by Jay Maclean The Royals Books by Erin Wyatt (not the name of the books, but they're easy enough to find), The Selection series by Kiera Cass, the Pepper Jones series by Ali Dean, and Jamie McGuire's "Beautiful" series (a few books about college-aged love, the rest on young adult love).
