Scenes like Anastasia and Nathan becoming ice skating partners-so that she has someone to practice with and he can use his hockey time-out to stay familiar with the ice-and Nathan shopping for Christmas gifts for Anastasia were not entirely necessary to include. I love a book that's long and has tons of details, but there were some scenes in this book that could've been removed to shorten the length. The book had some unnecessary scenes that didn't really need a chapter of their own. He literally disappeared from the book after trying to drunk flirt with Anastasia at a house party because he was upset that his love interest Olivia broke things off. I also wondered what happened to Ryan, who was a potential conflict and Anastasia's friend-with-benefits at the start of the novel, until she and Nathan became serious. It just didn't make sense at all especially since the FMC was aware of how her ice skating partner is toxic, but she brushes off his behaviour as "good moods" and "bad moods". And the whole excuse for Aaron's toxic behaviour towards Anastasia was that he was dealing with the fact that his father cheated on his mother, and he was salty that Anastasia wasn't there for him as a friend because she was too busy developing a relationship with Nathan. Even when the author tried to set up a resolution arc between Aaron and Anastasia, the A-hole blew the last straw and kissed Anastasia nonconsensually during their final competition (lol I can't remember whether it was called qualifiers or something else). From controlling her eating habits to fat-shaming her to crudely insulting her choice to sleep with who, he was an incorrigible character that didn't deserve forgiveness. He was written as a toxic character that consistently puts Anastasia down. I'd say that the main conflict is Aaron Carlisle-Anastasia's best friend, roommate, and ice skating partner. The main conflict of the book was weak and it was poorly set up.

I hate the cover of this book it's too cutesy and does not at all suit the entire vibes of the book. However, there are many issues in the book and let me start with the book cover. I loved everything about the romantic relationship between Nathan and Anastasia-like how they're so understanding towards one another and have great communication skills, also they fuck hotly, which is a fucking plus. I read last week and rated it 3/5 on Goodreads.
